Air-Pollution Transport Tracking air-borne pollutant transport is possible only with enough sensors in areas of interest. In order to advance air-pollution modeling, remote sensing (via satellite) was developed. This has enabled significant advancements in the technology and now includes chemical transformation over the evolution of plums in addition to wind vector and topographical models. Possible applications include: modeling and tracking of harmful chemicals on a global scale; small scale air-pollutant dispersion in a specific region, such as power plant emissions; and even source identification, which is valuable for biological/chemical terror attack early warning.
